Two things can be true at once. This was something my therapist told me on Thursday while I was telling her about my couple’s therapist. (Yes, I have become that person.)
The couple’s counselor, who we will call Penny, seemed great the first two times I spoke with her. She got it, I thought. I chose her because I knew my husband would respond to her. She seemed like a straight-shooter. No bullshit. And I was right. He did like her. They got on. If anything, I started to think after the second session…too well.
