There’s a lot about Gillian Anderson that makes her such an amazing actress and woman. One interesting fact is that when she was 24 she was sent to script for the The X-Files. She decided to audition because, “for the first time in a long time, the script involved a strong, independent, intelligent woman as a lead character.” Though she was initially passed over because the director wanted an actress with more experience and sex appeal, Anderson won the role in the end. Anderson is the first actress to win an Emmy, a Golden Globe and a SAG Award in the same year. For the role, she received a total of four Emmy nominations, four Golden Globe nominations and nine SAG nominations.
